Originally a native of Charlotte, John’s
interest in the appraisal industry stems
from an influence of family owned commercial
properties in the Charlotte, NC area, family
real estate investment in surrounding counties.
Mr. Powell began his commercial real estate
appraisal career in November 2003. Mr.
Powell is a State-Certified General Real
Estate Appraiser in NC, SC and GA. His responsibilities are appraising all
types of commercial properties, concentrating
in restaurants, retail, strip, neighborhood and
power center shopping centers,
subdivisions and vacant
commercial land.
A graduate from Appalachian State University
with a BSBA in Marketing, Mr. Powell’s
background includes working previously as
a commercial real estate agent; managing
the Carolina’s and Virginia in the
insurance industry and serving on the North
Carolina Manufactured Housing Association
Executive Council and Board of Directors.
He continues to work towards his MAI
designation and Real Estate Broker's
License.
